Seeing Kylee on Skype!

After a year of not actually seeing Kylee in person, today I finally got to see her beautiful little face on Skype! Technology is amazing! She is already talking and doing so much! During our conversation she waved to me, blew me kisses, said "Hi Breonna", told me about how she feeds giraffes at the zoo, told me she grew in my tummy (Her Adoptive Mom said, "You grew in Breonna's _____" and she said tummy), she colored me a picture over skype, spoke spanish (she said "hola"), threw a mini temper tantrum, went potty on the toilet and told me about it (while running around pantless and adorable), played a cute little game where you match pics of animals to their shadow on their iPad and got them ALL right, showed me her favorite stuffed animals and giggled as her Adoptive Dad tickled her and gave her kisses. It was INCREDIBLE! And the best part is... I get to see her IN PERSON in a few weeks!!! I am SO excited! Today has been amazing! I love Kylee and her Adoptive Parents more than I can put into words! They have given me the most precious gift I could have, a relationship with my beautiful, intelligent, funny, sweet little princess Kylee. <3

Too Long! Update! :D

Ok, so it has clearly been TOO LONG since I have posted anything on this blog! Obviously, a great deal has happened since I have updated ya'll last... Where to begin? Kylee is now TWO years old! They grow so fast! She is doing amazing and is living in Mexico with her adoptive family. Her Adoptive Dad is going to Medical school in Guadalajara and she will still be there for a few more years. It has been hard not to see her, but thank goodness her Adoptive Mom is so good at keeping up a blog about her life (unlike me ;) ). I am looking forward to seeing her around the Holidays though! Her Adoptive family comes up twice a year, but we missed each other the last time they came up so I am so thrilled that I will get to see her within a couple months! I miss her like you would not believe! She is already learning a little Spanish and I am very excited that she will be bilingual. It will help her so much later in life! As always, the process of Adoption is up-and-down. Some days are still quite hard, but the good days seem to outweigh the bad and I NEVER regret my decision to place Kylee with her Family. I know that is where she was meant to be! Adoption is such a beautiful experience and I so wish that people could understand what a miracle it is! I have come to see how many misconceptions are out there and it makes me sad. It makes me sad that people don't know how amazing those brave Birth Mothers are and what a sacrifice they have made (I love you girls <3). It makes me sad that people have misconceptions about WHO Birth Mothers are and WHY they made the hardest decision a Mother could ever make. It makes me sad that people don't know more about open adoptions and about what adoption really is these days. So, if you read this and you don't know, get educated! Go to a conference, talk to a Birth Mother or an Adoptive Family! Get the word out that adoption is incredible! I know I will! Ok, here are some new pics of my Lil' Princess <3

Pics and little updates

Hi all! Kylee is doing great and I am very excited because I am seeing her next week! It has been over two months and I miss her TONS! She is doing so many new things! Eating, sitting up, rolling over and growling, lol. Apparently she has gotten big enough that when left alone for only moments she is able to get from one side of the room to the other (by rolling) and begin pulling things from drawers. She does not like prunes (of which her adoptive dad can attest-due to the mass amount of puke he got on his shirt after feeding her) and she loves exploring. I am so excited to see all the new changes. on another note, I have been asked by several people to update some pics and these ones show a lot of her new talents. Also, if you want to see updated pics on a regular basis, visit her blog at followingkylee.blogspot.com (I stole these from there, lol) I will update as soon as I see my little Princess!

New pics and new changes!

I have not seen Kylee since before Christmas, but her adoptive mom just placed the cutest pics up of her! She has learned how to roll over from her back to her tummy and she can even sit up for almost a min. before falling over! She is getting so big! I have been missing her a lot lately, but I hold firm to the belief that this is what was meant to be. On a lighter note, I just started going back to school on Tuesday, it's great! I'll write again as soon as I have more news!

Seeing Kylee!

I got to see Kylee a couple weeks ago and it was so wonderful! She has grown so much and is now belly laughing and cooing a lot. She just started eating rice cereal and is also learning how to hold her own bottle. I cannot belive how quickly she is becoming a little lady!
I got to go Christmas shopping at the mall with Kylee and her and her adoptive parents. It was so much fun! We took her to the baby stores and put little jackets and shoes on her and we all had a great time (She seemed to like it too 'cause she smiled and talked a lot :D).
Later that night her adoptive Mom brought her to my adoption support group and everyone got to see her. It was so wonderful. I don't think she will ever know how much that meant to me. It's hard not being able to show her off to people like a normal mom would do. But for just one night I was able to feel that honor in regards to this beautiful little girl. I know she is no longer mine, I am just grateful to her Mom for the ways she has blessed my life and kept Kylee a part of it. I could not have asked for a better adoptive Mother.
I still have days that are really hard, but I am so happy that Kylee is doing so well! She is becoming such a beautiful girl (and I have to say, she is totally the most stylish baby in town. :D). This experience has taught me so much and I will be eternally grateful! Thank you to all those who have been involved! I will update again soon! :)

Catching Up

Time to catch up... I have not seen Kylee in the last month or so, but she is doing well. She is getting bigger everyday and I can't believe how grown up she looks! I found out that she got to stay up in Snowflake for about a week and she even got snowed in for about a day! I would love to see her all bundled up and playing in the snow. I hope sometime I can build a snowman with her when she is a little older. I am anticipating seeing her sometime in the next week or so and I am really excited. In the mean time, I am babysitting today. It is great to have a baby to play with, but I will always miss my little Princess. But things are as they should be and I am doing well. I just got signed up for school and I cannot wait to jump back into learning! I will write again as soon as I see Kylee! :D
